What is Included?
Our holiday home is pet-friendly and fully equipped for your stay. We provide an option for a self-care stay, where you provide your own linen. Otherwise, we can provide linen at $50/double or $25/single for your stay. Mattress covers, pillows, blankets and doonas are all provided for your comfort. The kitchen is fully equipped with cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils. An outside shower allows you to rinse off after the beach.
There is a queen four-poster in the main bedroom with a big round spa, shower overhead and an en-suite toilet. There is also a double bed in the second bedroom and two bunk beds in the third bedroom. One bunk bed is two singles, and the other is a double bottom and single top. There is also a separate bathroom with toilet, bath and shower for other couples and/or kids. Or, simply close off that part of the cottage for a snug and comfortable romantic getaway.
What do you need to bring with you?
If you opt for our self-care package, you will need to bring your own sheets, pillow slips, towels, face washers and tea towels. Alternatively, linen can be purchased at $50/double or $25/single for your stay. You will also need to bring your own food and drinks… luckily you are only a short walk to the supermarket and liquor store.
Are restaurants close to the house?
Driftwood Cottage is close to town and the main strip of the CBD, where you will find many diverse cafes, coffee shops, restaurants and bars. There are also plenty of restaurants a short drive away, and a myriad of them associated with the vineyards spread across the local South-West area.
How far is the beach?
It is a very short walk to the beach at the end of our street, approximately 250 metres, plus all cafes, restaurants, shops and bars nearby in the CBD.
Are pets allowed?
We are a pet friendly property, so your dog is welcome. We have a large kennel outside, a dog bed and a fully enclosed yard to keep Fido happy, and the dog beach is just at the end of the street.
However, we do have a few simple conditions. We do ask that you refrain from letting pets on any furniture and you clean up thoroughly after your pet on vacating. To encourage this, there will be a cleaning surcharge if there is excessive pet fur found on furniture, beds, or yes.. even in the spa, believe it or not. Further, the cleaners will also charge a fee if they are required to pick up dog droppings from outside. They are very firm on this and it is not something we can negotiate, so please be very diligent in cleaning up after your pet. Otherwise, we wish you and your pet a happy stay.
Are discounts available for longer stays?
Yes, stay for 7 days or more and receive a 10% discount on your total tariff.
What deposit is required?
A $200 deposit will secure your booking with the remainder of the tariff and a $200 refundable damage deposit (bond) payable 14 days before the booked dates. Your bond will be returned about 7 days after vacating, when the property has been checked. We usually manage the money via EFT or PayPal.
How may cars can park at the property?
The property fits four cars and/or a small boat parked under the peppermint tree.
Are the shops close by?
The central shopping precinct is a short walk straight down from the driveway of Driftwood Cottage, about 250 metres. The local shopping centres have Coles, Kmart, Aldi, Dome, bank, pharmacy and a variety of other stores to keep you stocked up for you holiday.
November 2018. Relaxing quiet cottage with comfy beds in great location. We had 6 of us stay at Driftwood cottage and it was such a great location, with walking distance to the beach, jetty and shops. Being tucked away at the rear of another house made it a quiet cottage and the beds were super comfy. The kids enjoyed a game of cricket in the front lawn too so thanks for cricket set being available. We hope to return someday, thanks for letting us stay in your cute home.Allison F.
